    Gary Nolan Records Win #250
Thursday, June 26th, 1986: The Indians SP Gary Nolan wrote his name in the league history books by picking up career victory number 250 today against the Chicago White Sox. In the Cleveland 4-1 triumph at Cleveland Stadium, the 38-year-old hurler went 7.1 innings, allowed 4 hits and had 5 strikeouts and 2 walks.

"I won't forget this day," an emotional Nolan told reporters. "It's hard to stay at the top for so long and to win 250 games is quite a feat."

So far in Nolan's career, the 38-year-old starter has won 250 and lost 222, collecting 2444 strikeouts with a 3.66 ERA. Opponents have hit .263 against him.

He racked up 11 hits in 22 at-bats, 5 home runs and 13 RBIs last week in 7 games.

    Petry Gives Boston Goose Eggs
Friday, August 8th, 1986: The Boston Red Sox struggled at the plate today against Indians hurler SP Dan Petry, who shackled them on 5 hits while hurling a complete game 5-0 shutout.

"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Red Sox skipper in his postgame comments.

"Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."

Petry finished the game with 2 strikeouts and 3 walks in an excellent mound performance.

"He pitched real well," his manager said. "Dan made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."

This season Petry has worked 144 innings with 84 strikeouts en route to a 11-7 record and a 4.38 ERA.

If you don't want any of them, you could just keep your mouth shut and not worry about it.
