Hmm...guys...do you guys think Davis might potentially be a bust in the NBA?

I know it hasn't been talked about but what everyone seems to be ignoring is that he couldn't do anything against Robinson in the Finals. In the NBA, he'll be facing guys just as strong or stronger then T.Rob but who are his height...I honestly think that it's asking a lot for him to be the next coming of KG.

Defensively, he could be the next Marcus Camby, but I just am not sold on him being a superstar in the NBA. What do you guys think?

I'm personally a huge fan of Jeremy Lamb as I believe the NBA game will allow him to explode onto the scene as his slasher skillset, his length and athleticism, his aggressiveness and most importantly, his jumpshot to keep defenders honest, will allow him to become a big time player.

Also, I'm very high on Terrence Jones. He's extremely versatile, hybrid 3/4 Josh Smith type of player who could easily be a top end SF in the league. Although some see him as a 4, he has very good handles, plays great D, great athleticism, and a good jumpshot. I can see a lot of Josh Smith in him.

Lastly, what's everyone's view on Harrison Barnes (would prefer a thorough assessment of the guy from anyone who's watched him throughout the year)? Although I kinda see him as another Martell Webster, I could be wrong. I don't see the elite athleticism but I hoped that he could develop that Brandon Roy-esk old school game that is fundamentally based. Anyone help me out on him?

if you ask me he dominated the game without needing to score a single bucket. that says a hell of a lot to me.

The last two posts you posted in this thread, I literally couldn't disagree more with.

Anthony Davis, although he struggled offensively, did more on the court in one minute of the championship game than your beloved Bargnani does in an entire game.

Jeremy Lamb; aggressive? Uh, no. Jeremy Lamb is most definitely not aggressive.

Terrence Jones; great defender? What games are you watching?

I'm sorry, but I just think your evaluations are absolutely terrible.

I was thinking of that myself. He's quite frail, he just might take more time to pan out.

I want Barnes. He dominated last years March Madness as a FR, it wasnt just a fluke..
Although he stunk in this years, he still has the talent to become a star in the NBA and will be, as long as he plays with more guts.

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I put it here.

A poster from another forum posted this, I thought some of you might find it interesting.

My friend and I met Bryan Colangelo himself at the VIP Event in the Air Canada Club at last night's game. As a prior season ticket holder, my ticket rep reached out to me and gave me two free tickets and invited me to attend a Q&A session with Ed Stefanski. It turns out that it was with Bryan instead.

Our main discussion surrounded the upcoming Draft. Our first question was related to who he would be leaning towards taking, assuming that we were awarded the #2 pick in the Draft (as Davis is the consensus #1 pick).

Bryan assured us that he will be taking the best player available regardless of position as ultimately he is in the business of acquiring assets which can be moved for other players, picks, etc. That being said he mentioned that he is interested in securing the future of the 1 and 3 spots, but mentioned that he is extremely pleased with Jose’s play this year including shot making ability, leadership and professionalism day in and day out.

Based on our discussions it sounds like he is leaning towards MKG or Harrison Barnes (in that order) as he mentioned both of them several times in passing during our conversation, but did not actually say he prefers any specific player in this draft (outside of stressing that Davis will likely go #1). He stressed that he couldn't talk about specific players due to confidentially agreements they sign.

This douche bag that was also at the event was being a moron and saying stop going International and stick to the NCAA. Bryan said that he takes the best player available regardless of where they are from, and douche bag countered with a comment about Bargs. Bryan said that he still stands behind the pick and knew at the time that Brandon Roy was likely the best player in the draft, but that everyone knew that his knees would not hold up. He also mentioned that Lamarcus Aldridge had hip problems in high school or college which are now acting up and have cause him to miss some games? I was not aware of this. Brian did say that the other guy he was considering taking with the #1 pick was Rudy Gay as he is such a physical specimen / athletic freak.

    Other notable comments from B.C.:
    • Sonny Weems was in town this week, and the Raptors staff was taking a look at his injured ankle. Brian says he "really likes the kid", and stressed that he is a RFA and could be back with the team next year
    • We asked Bryan what he thought about Sir Charles comments about Kentucky being able to beat the Raptors. Brian was surprised and wasn't even aware that Barkley said that! He said "There are a few other teams that Kentucky would be able to beat if they can beat us (implying Charlotte, NO, etc.). There is a reason Charles has lost all that money in Casinos. I would take that bet any day!"
    • We asked him what his thoughts are on Goran Dragic and he said "Hell of a player".
    • We told him that the recent 3 game win streak hurt TANK NATION, and he said "YOU said it not me!"...and jokingly said that he tried to slow Casey down by trading Barbosa but that Casey keeps on winning
    • He really stressed how impressed and happy he is with the job that Coach has done this year, with changing the culture and emphasis of the team to Defense First...

Overall, I was really impressed with what a nice and friendly guy Bryan is. He went out of his way to talk to us multiple times and really stuck around for as long as he could.

As most of you may not believe this, tell me how to post a pic (instructions) and I will post it.

Really great read. The standard BC stuff that I always like to hear. I would love to have this opportunity and ask him questions like this sometime.

Funny how he mentioned both Harrison Barnes and MKG. Would love to get inside his head and see which one HE thought was better.

Praise the gods. Deep lottery this year now that Beal has declared as well. In all honesty as long as we draft top seven we'll leave with a very good piece.

    LaMarcus Aldridge needs hip surgery
    Updated: April 12, 2012, 6:06 PM ET
    Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge will have surgery on his right hip and miss the rest of the season.

The team said Thursday no date has been set for the arthroscopic procedure, which will repair a slight labral tear. Aldridge says he has had pain for about two weeks and is unsure how the injury occurred.
The 6-foot-11 power forward in his sixth year called the tear "minor" and said he was being proactive in having the procedure. Aldridge had surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left hip when he was at Texas in 2005. He said that injury was much more severe.

I don't get the hype with this guy. Looks to me that he's gonna struggle finding a position cuz he's undersized but not a pg.. Randy foye 2.0 imo
