This was already posted on the Bears forum, but I thought this was worth sharing here.

The Bears will go into the hours leading to the start of free agency considered around the league to be the favorite in the competition to sign defensive end Mario Williams away from the Houston Texans, CSNChicago.com has learned from a number of NFL sources.

We need a swing tackle. It has to be better than the prospect of Herb Taylor starting if there's an injury.

He gave up about the same number of sacks as Newhouse.

That would be nasty. That's the way you deal with Rodgers and Stafford in your division and the league getting pass happy; rush the passer. Would be fun to watch. Hope they get him.....and a WR.

If CHI gets Mario that's just not fair. No more pass rushers in this division please.

Not anymore, but I did watch him quite a bit. I keep an eye on him all of the time. He takes plays off, just like he did in Charlotte. He only gives effort when he feels like it.

This is not to make room for Peyton Manning: Texans cut quarterback Matt Leinart.
