Bynum has more value than all 5 of those 76ers combined and it's not even close. What makes you think the Lakers would take so little for Bynum?

If picks were to be added in it wouldn't be too hard to imagine the Lakers at least thinking heavily about it.

You're prob right bajecco. Just a thought. Although, based on hollingers numbers, it does make the lakers better.

Just a thought (not sure how i feel about it), but what about trying to sign Jeff Green (if fully healthy) on a relatively cheap contract, then use Thad in a trade for a 2 or 5?

I'm pretty sure Jeff Green will go back to the C's, probably a 1 year deal. He's gone back to sitting on the Celtics bench, despite the fact that he's currently unemployed, and all indications are that he really likes it there. I think he only gets a 1 year deal, because the C's will want to see how he responds to the surgery and Green won't sign a cheap long-term deal because if he plays well, he can get a much bigger contract. We would have to really overpay for his services to steal him out of Boston. I also think the Celtics still want him as part of their long term plans, considering that they would've traded Perkins for nothing if they let Green walk.

I'd like to keep either Lou or Thad around, they're tailor made 6th men and are the kind of guys you gotta have to be a contender. I do think one of them is expendable though, and I think Thad is the much more versatile player who makes an impact on both ends of the court, so if I'm moving one of the two, Lou is the guy that I think needs to go. Although, if they're packaged together to bring in a big time star, then they're both expendable.

You can find energy guys off the bench all over the league.

We view thad and lou as more special than they are for 2 reasons:
    1. They're OUR bench/energy guys and they've been here for years.
    2. They contibute more than typical guys in that role because our starters aren't elite players.

I don't think Thad or Lou are just run of the mill energy guys, I think you're selling them short in that regard. I think they'd be able to produce comparable numbers if they were on an elite team, especially Thad because he gets his work done without any plays being called for him.

I'm not sure you can find too many guys around the league that possess Thad's combination of speed, athleticism, basketball IQ, hustle, and post game.

I don't think I'm selling them short. They're very good bench players. There's a lot of those guys in the NBA.

We like them because they're "ours". But is lou any better than jamal crawford? Jason terry? Eric maynor? Etc? I'd say prob not.

Is thad better than lamar odom (pre-mavs, lol) kennith faried? Udonis haslem? Brandon bass? Etc.

@BChydro- I like Thad! Kinda undersized, but fits his role good.. real quick, has improved defense, and love that he's getting his mid range game back! I think hes finally finding a balance thats suits him.. compared to at 1 point struggling at SF, then over bulking for PF.. I dont see many Thads around the league. He could be a lil better around the rim sometimes tho..

Yeah Thad is a stud off the bench. Why mess with the best scoring bench in the league unless you are getting a big return. I would move Thad in a package if it fetched us a guy like Jefferson, Bynum, etc. But these Javale Mcgee ideas are ridicdulous the guy has the lowest basketball IQ I have ever seen. Doug doesn't work well with those kind of players.

Just like ET is a bust, huh? McGee has the ability to rival Dwight Howard as the best interior defender in the league, if he played on a team with some leaders and accountability like ours, I'm sure he would flourish.
