    So my first competition was yesterday. It was in a town outside of the city where I live. 15 competitors ended up coming out which was awesome. One of the competitors was Dan Ostlund, who is a professional strongman and placed 3rd at the worlds strongest man in China. He, of course, ended up winning. The guy who finished 2nd also competes professinally as well. It was a really really nice day and a couple of hundred people came out and watched. So now to how I did.

    There was 5 events. Harness Truck Pull

    Harness pull with assist(assist just means we got to pull with the rope)
    25,000lb Fuel Truck

    Log Clean and Press
    250lb 10" Log for reps, or 200lb 10"
    60 seconds

    Car Deadlift
    Reps in 60 seconds.
    Head to head
    Weight was a suv. So around 750 in the hands I believe
    No bouncing

    Medley
    275lb Farmers 50'
    650lb tire flip x 5
    400lb duck walk 50'

    Atlas Stones

    I set alot of PR's during the day. For the harness pull I had the 5th best time of 31.93, which is a PR. Log press and clean I decided to go with the 200 pounder just because I didn't want to risk getting a score of 0 with 250. I ended up doing 7 reps of 200 which I don't believe I've ever done. The log was much easier than the one I've been training with. Car deadlifts I set a pr of 7 reps. I pounded out 6 reps in 15 seconds, then the guy yelled at me I had 45 seconds left so I managed to regain my breathe and squueeezzee out one more rep.
    After 3 events I was around 4-5th place, which is awesome. But then the medley happened....
    So I get ready to do the farmers, pick the farmers and walk 30 feet. Then all of a sudden my right hand rips open, deep to the muscle. When I dropped the farmer it landed on my foot lol. So I scored 0 on the event which absolutely pissed me off. I could have done the tires and gave the duck walk a serious challenge.
    So the last event was atlas stones. By now I'm gassed. My hand is a bloody mess, my elbow problems start to linger and my foot is bruised up. I wrapped my hand up like a champion and tried the stones. I easily got the first 2 with pretty much one hand. I tried for the 290 and got it up but my bandade on my hand came off and I couldn't grip the stone at all. So disappointing cause I also scored 0 on this event. It would have been really interesting if I could have stayed injury free and see how well I could have placed, no doubt in my mind I could have.


    All in all it was really fun. Looking forward to seriously bulking up for the next contest in august.

    I took a week off, did some light shoulders on monday and doing my regular arm thing tonight. Starting my hard bulk next week.
