I'm glad to hear it, and hope he doesn't move, but if there are teams out there still going after him, this news will only drive up the price and makes it more likely a deal comes in that completely blows away the Flyers..

that just drove Nash's value through the roof.

yesterday JVR was the "bargain hunter" version of Nash for teams wanting a big forward for a top line. With JVR gone, all the teams who were interested in him have to kick the tires on a Nash trade. I bet that phone is ringing off the hook.

Hopefully this means the Rangers still get him, but have to trade away some of their core AND wont be able to resign some of their core due to that catastrophic cap hit.

EDIT: just saw Columbus has "15" trade offers for Nash right now.

Either way it looks good for us. If Nash goes to NYR it screws them long term. If he doesnt then we improved with Grossman and Kubina while they didnt. Now if we can get Bryz to build off that shootout the other night we will be looking not too shabby going into the home stretch

With him just coming back for concussion and starting to ramp it up you have to consider this news as an addition to the team.

If they werent told directly the 10 and 12 year deals basically did.

I like this move by keeping JVR. Love it actually. Flyers have one of the best offenses in the league if not, thee best. Bryz has had a couple bright spots in the last couple weeks, all the while they greatly improved there defense. Much more physical. People tend to think if there's a big name still out there, you have to somehow make a play for him regardless if you need him. Which is what I think the deal was with the Nash rumors. In the end the Flyers made the best deal they could in not moving any players.

Yeah...not a whole lot of activity today...not many teams made deals at all. I think that tells you how steep the trade market was. Supposedly San Jose was pushing very hard for JVR today......but the way we're positioned better to stand pat than overpay for sure..

Yeah exactly...There are so many teams battling for spots and not many teams that are cleary out of it. Either way, its good to see all the rumors done and now focus on playing hockey.

I live in winnipeg but am a huge flyers fan and just heard from the jets GM the Homer was trying to pry Pavlec from him offering JVR and Bob....thought it was worth mentioning.
