Tampa got Quincey from Colorado for Downie and they've traded him to us for a first. Wow this came out of nowhere. I'm really not sure what to think of it.

This is what I thought originally too. As I think about it more the more I start to like it. It improves our d quite quite a bit and I think we have a pretty good chance of resigning him.

Agreed, paying a first round draft pick in this draft season is WAY to much for Quincy. From what I can remember about him isn't he also injury prone? Not happy not happy at all. Originally Posted by dalions23

Hopefully we'll see a seasoned defender out of him after a few stints with other teams. You can never have too many defenseman. I don't like losing the 1, but in the end I trust in Holland. Although it is yet another lefty in the lineup.

He got claimed off waivers by LA in 2009. We had quite a few defenseman at the time. (Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, Stuart, Lilja, Lebda, Ericsson, Meech) Somebody had to go down to GR, and LA snatched him up. Not like he was booted out of town. Originally Posted by westhockeytown

i see three others who coulda went instead of him on your list, and eventually did. that he went first just means he fit the least into wings system. but who knows? maybe he got some good experience with the avs, aside from missing a ton of games. Originally Posted by RedWings734
