Vinny Leaves Practice Early with Upper Body Injury

Lightning captain Vinny Lecavalier left Monday's practice early because of an upper-body injury coach Guy Boucher said "popped up" during Saturday's 2-1 win over the Capitals.

Boucher hinted Lecavalier would have some sort of test. Asked if Lecavalier will play Tuesday against the Ducks, Boucher said, "We'll see."

Lecavalier, 31, had 19:39 of ice time against Washington, 36 seconds more than his average, with an assist, two shots on goal and three hits.

Officially, the center, with 10 goals and 27 points in his past 30 games, is day-to-day.

    He was unavailable for comment.

    From Erik Erlendsson's Twitter:
Vinny Lecavalier, who is now listed as out indefinitely, says no surgery needed, no cast needed but clear what the injury is.

In a best-case scenario, C Vinny Lecavalier, out five games with a fractured right hand, could be back in 10 days, Boucher said.
