Cain or Dickey for NL starting pitcher?

It appears that this is a two horse race in terms of who is starting the all star game for the NL. I'd personally go with Cain he's been dominant all year and has a perfect game under his belt. Dickey has had a dominant year as well. Who do you think starts and why?

RA Dickey, he had back to back 1 hitters, and it really should have been a no-no followed by a 1-hitter, he has been untouchable at times, he really has had a remarkable season

Dickey has had a slightly better year and deserves to start. But since Posey has never caught a knuckleballer, Cain probably will start.

Now that Molina isn't in the game, I'm not sure who will start. Ruiz will probably be better to catch Dickey than Posey though being the better defensive catcher.

so did the national league considering the 4th best catcher 3rd best 3b and 6th best OF are all starting, if giants fans wanted vogelsong and bumgarner to go than they shouldn't have forced less deserving players to start,

if molina wont attend than this mean aj elis will get the all-star birth that he has rightfully earned

It's already been given to Matt Holliday.

Obviously you would go with Cain even though Dickey has more wins, better ERA, better WHIP, and more K's.... you're a Giants fan

And for all you advanced stat people, Dickey has a 3.5 WAR to Cain's 2.5 WAR.... seriously, what has Cain been better than Dickey at this year? It seems Dickey is the only answer to this question. People just don't want to pick him cuz he's a knuckleball pitcher for the Mets.

I'm sure if he was on the Giants and Cain on the Mets, the OP would have posted this exact same post except saying he'd personally go with Dickey...ect

This is exactly the truth.. if Giants fans wanted Vogelsong and Bumgarner to make the team, they shouldn't have stuffed the ballots for Posey and Sandavol. With Wright, Freese, and Chipper (since he's retiring they were gonna find a way to get him on the team no matter what), Sandavol shouldn't even be on the team, let alone starting.... Posey would have been a backup anyway since Molina can't play... but thats at least 1 spot wasted away that could have gone to a player who actually deserved to make it (ie: Vogelsong or Bumgarner) so stop whining! You guys are part of the reason neither of them made it.

    Shut up. Cain.

There should have been more Giants on the team

You should take your own advice.
