I'll be a positive poster if the Giants give me something to be positive about. Last year was abysmal, plus I thought they would make the playoffs last year. Maybe i am negative but i don't jump at the team if they don't deserve to be attacked.

You gotta admit, the first season of that thread was pretty awesome. There was at least one entry per day... mostly due to the fact that he benched our starting RF after the first game.

Who didn't think we were going to make the playoffs? We should have. We were pretty much victims of the worst possible scenarios.

Well I'm sure several people gave up after Posey went down, or in September.

People who gave up at that time are quite obviously jokes for fans. Giving up on an entire season for losing a player, any one player is illogical in every perspective imaginable.

Should've just left it at "...illogical in every perspective imaginable". Went just a tad over the top with that last bit. At least that confirms you're a super fan.

And the fans were victims to the worst possible offense. It's not like the offense was great before Posey went down and it was even worse then before Sancehez went down.

fans should be allowed to be positive or negative. an all positive board is boring...

the attitude on the board will be more reflective of what the team is doing, don't blame the fans for commenting on the team.

Ok, back to the origins of the thread. Nate the great. He was really have a great run in the first half of the season, but the problem with Nate as good as he is defensively, he's just as mediocre with the bat where mgmt can try to improve themselves cough Carlos Beltran.

Nate isn't a starting OF'er, but on a team so deficient in the OF, he is here... I don't think he'll be as good as he was last year in the first half. Probably .260 minimal power, minimal RBI and great defense.

If Nate were to have a career year, the giants would be poised to really make an impact this season. Someone will have a career year. (i think Bumgarner is going to dominate this year)

Those are two awful examples leftymo. They were not the sole reasonse for failiure. Nor was Posey. It's no secret our lineup was nothing special anyway, but we lead AZ by an average of 10 games throughout the season and Voltron was SUPPOSED to be that guy who tipped the scale in our favor. That was the whole reason we got him. We were plagued by numerous obstacles and the end of last season was quite frankly the culmination of everything falling apart for the team, nothing really went right.

Which was a result of Sabean not improving the offense in the offseason....once again. Coming off the World Series with a team that could barely score enough runs to support their elite pitching staff and only acquiring Miguel Tejada to "shore up the offense" was a slap in the face to the loyal fans (and the pitching staff).
