Chad Morris Smash Mouth Spread Offense
    QB: Russell Wilson 72.8 Completion % (3), 33 TD (8), 4 INT (4), 191.78 QB Rating (1)[NCAA Record], First Team All-Big 10, Big 10 QB of the Year, Yahoo! Sports 3rd Team All-American

    SE: Stephen Hill 29.29 YPC (1), 3rd Team All-ACC
    FL: Jared Abbrederis 16.96 YPC (25), 1999 APY (12), All-Big 10 Honorable Mention
SL: Tavon Austin 1186 yards (22), 2574 APY (1), CBS 1st Team All-American, Yahoo! 2nd Team All-American, 1st Team All-Big East, Big East Special Teams Player of the Year
TE: Tyler Eifert 803 yards (1) *among TEs, Mackey Award Finalist, Walter Camp 1st Team All-American, AP 2nd Team All-American

    LG: Jeremy Galten
    OC: Khaled Holmes
    RG: John Martinez
    RT: Kevin Graf
Offensive Line allowed 8 sacks (1) and 52 TFL (7)

This is the offense Chad Morris used to resurrect Clemson's offense in 2011. The offense spreads the field out, using the TE as a move player more often than not. The offensive line is a tough, zone blocking crew. Led by Russell and David Wilson, this offense would be nearly unstoppable. Wilson is a perfect QB for this offense; very mobile, a great decision maker, and deadly accurate. He's a huge upgrade over Tahj Boyd. Likewise, David Wilson is a quite a bit better than Andre Ellington. Zach Line adds a new dimension to this offense, as he's a versatile FB that can also run the ball really well. At WR, Tavon Austin, Stephen Hill, and Jared Abbrederis are pretty comparable to what Clemson had. Sammy Watkins got a ton of hype, but his numbers were not much better than Austin's. They would play the same role in the offense, slot WR who gets some rushes on sweeps as well as a lot of screens. Hill is not quite as dependable as Nuk Hopkins, but he is more explosive. Abbrederis is a load better than Jaron Brown, and is a better FL fit. Tyler Eifert is a very slight downgrade on Dwayne Allen at TE, and is still an awesome pass catcher.

    Tim DeRuyter 3-4/4-3 Hybrid Defense
    LE: Jabaree Tuani 13 TFL (73), 1st Team All-Independent
NT: Brandon Thompson 2nd Team All-ACC
    RE: Sam Montgomery 9 sacks (20), 13.5 TFL (59), AP 3rd Team All-American, 1st Team All-SEC, CBS 2nd Team All-American
JOKER: Brandon Lindsey 8.5 sacks (23)
SAM: Luke Kuechly 191 tackles (1), Butkus Award Winner, Lombardi Award Winner, Bronco Nagurski Award Winner, Unanimous Consensus All-American, 1st Team All-ACC, ACC Defensive Player of the Year
    MIKE: Bobby Wagner 147 tackles (4), 1st Team All-WAC
    WILL: Denicos Allen 11 sacks (6), 18.5 TFL (15), 2nd Team All-Big 10
CB: Josh Robinson 17 passes defended (8), 1st Team All-C-USA
FS: Robert Lester SI Honorable Mention All-American
    SS: Kenny Tate 100 tackles (71), 1st Team All-ACC, *2010 stats
CB: Quandre Diggs 19 passes defended (3), 4 passes intercepted (22), Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, 2nd Team All-Big 12, Freshman All-American Team
NB: Coty Sensabaugh 14 passes defended (30)

This is the same defense that Tim DeRuyter has used to propel his defensive rankings to the top of the nation. The featured "Joker" position that made Von Miller a stud is filled here by Brandon Lindsey, a quite good pass rushing LB. This scheme is a base 3-4, but will give a lot of 4-3 looks as well with Lindsey dropping down to LE and Tuani moving inside to DT. Tuani and Montgomery are very good book-ends, with the perfect space eater in the middle in Brandon Thompson, an underrated run plugger who isn't bad at generating pass rush pressure either. Across from Brandon Lindsey at OLB will be Denicos Allen, a multi-talented player who can rush the passer and cover with the best. In the middle of the defense, two of the top four tacklers in the nation in Bobby Wagner and Luke Kuechly anchor the lineup. Kuechly was probably the best individual defensive player in all of college football last year with a terrible BC team around him. Just imagine him with a team full of playmakers around him. In the secondary, Josh Robinson is a little talked about CB who has had two spectacular years at Central Florida. Quandre Diggs was one of the best Freshman in the nation this past year at Texas. Robert Lester was a starter on the National Champs, and intercepted 8 passes in 2010. Kenny Tate was injured all year, but is a high-impact safety who was projected to be a top 2 rounds NFL draft pick had he declared after the 2010 year.
