dont know if this is smoke and mirrors or what.

i really do think we can draft olb help in the 2nd round and be able to rotate the rookie with barwin and reed with full efficiency.

I agree with the need for a solid #2 reciever and corner. But I've been watching the Mock drafts and I like the idea of drafting Dontario Poe/DT/Memphis. Guy is 6'6" 355lbs. And I like the idea of having a true NT in the 3/4 defense.
Ok guys ive started looking into draft prospects. I usually do this a little later then this but hey im excited to start the next season, and i know by saying this im gunna get a lot of heat but i want Michael Floyd from Notre Dame. No more Justin Blackmon, now i know highlights arnt every thing but from the videos ive been watching i think Floyd is better at locating the ball and grabbing it at its highest points. Notre Dames QB imo isnt very accurate, i know that because ive watched some games of ND. Now im not saying his garbage, buuuuut in the same aspect if you watch Blackmon most of his balls were grabbed while he was wide open because of the amazing routes he runs. He doesnt possess 4.3,4,speed. He runs a 4.54. Now Floyd doesnt either but hes runs a 4.52. But i like the Larry Fitz idea. Larry finds a ball and grabs it, he adjusts and makes plays. Blackmon yes does the same but Floyd does it alot better. Ive also watched the baylor kid. He possesses a lot more speed but imo is better suited as a slot guy.

I think Floyd should be the pick no doubt, I see him and Blackmon being the prized receivers in this draft and a few years down the road.
The more i watch the more im on awe of this guy. Floyd tracks and grabs everything it seems. Im gunna do a more in depth look tomorrow, but wow.

Floyd is compaired to Roddy White of the falcons, and Blackmon to Brandon Marshall of the dolphins
Sorry i keep posting guys but i cant sleep and i just found this video and i think EVERY ONE should watch this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZuY8...eature=related
Haha if you guys all want a good laugh go to our texans forums and then sort from the beggining of time and look at the thread "expectations of tate" its on page 15. We all sat back and doubted that foster could secure a starting role or could even be a starter in the league, i saw it and said hmm maybe we are all a little to critical on our players. We do seem to draft guys who want to be great and have great work ethics, look at the improvement with kareem this year, barwin, reed, watt, a lot of guys came on strong and big for us, lets not be so critical![]()

I'm not opposed to drafting a WR but I think we can draft one later. Because i'm surprised no one has mentioned Lestar Jean. He went out in the preseason with an injury. He is the same size as Andre I believe, but is FAR more physical Which is how he got injured fighting a Safety and a Corner for a 52 yard pass in the preseason trying to make the team. I remember Kubiak saying they had high expectations for him when he comes off IR. He plays very very fast and holds on to the ball when hit hard. He uses his big body to make screens and is a big time playmaker also is work ethic is great.
You can check out his videos here. http://www.bigplayjean.com/sample-page/
I honestly feel his presence allows us to be flexible with our 1st round pick.
Also the reports on the PSD news page is that if we franchise Mario he will only get 10mill. I don't know if thats right but I highly doubt the Texans let him walk for free they keep him or trade him nothing else should happen.
I think we would do good drafting Stephon Gilmore CB from South Carolina or Janoris Jenkins CB from North Alabama. I would also like to know what we are going to do with Demco is he going to platoon next year too if so I would like to draft Dont'a Hightower ILB from Alabama Or Luke Kuechly ILB from Boston College they are both MONSTER or Dontari Poe DT from Memphis or Devon Still DT from Penn St. Thats just my defensive picks I only like Kendall Wright as a WR.
Gilmore isn't a first round talent, Jenkins should be gone by the time we pick. So will kuechly. There's really no need to draft an ILB. The Achilles injury takes more than a full year to work your way back to full strength, which is why demeco came on late in the season IMO. Plus you have Cushing, sharpton and dobbins too. A 4-3 will have taken still before we pick. So really the only argent I can see is WR vs NT, but my thought is, Cody and Mitchell were at worst average this season and the D was elite. The same cant be said about our WRs and offense. I say go Josh chapman out of Alabama in the 2nd.
There are 5 legit 1st round WRs this year IMO. And the difference between them and a guy in the late second is pretty significant (although I'd love to nab Ryan Broyles in the 3rd). Here are my rankings:
Blackmon
Sanu (me and pk just love this guy. Like a faster Anquan boldin. Does everything well, nothing poor)
Floyd
Wright
Jefffries
I would love to get Ryan broyles in the 3rd round and Michael Floyd in the first. We would have a great receiving core but idk how realistic that is
I like Broyles, i think he could be a really good guy in the slot. I have a feeling like Blackmons stock may drop after the combine if it doesnt go well for him. But i could be wrong. I think Floyd and Kendall Writes stock are gunna blow up after the combine
Broyles would be the perfect guy in the slot in our system honestly. And I'm not concerned about his injury, since his ability to get open came from his ability to run perfect routes more than freakish athletic ability IMO
Exactly my thinking. Broyles wasn't great just cuz he wad a freak athlete. He runs great routes routes and arguably has the best hands in college football in recent years. Not saying he's unathletic, just downplaying his injury. But I don't think we will draft two receivers because we have Andre Walter jean and kubiak has already said jacoby will likely be back
I think we need to get rid of Williams and get a reciever like Mike Wallace from Pitt, thoughts?
i've mentioned jean, but i fully expect them to draft another as well. if jean emerges, and we draft a guy who shows up then our passing game will be pretty unstoppable again. I actually would like another johnson type guy...a guy who can line up in the slot or outside, as jean was doing...
