Absolutely possible. We do have the highest number of users online currently that I've seen ever on the site (although we haven't hit the record yet).

    Thought so, thanks for clarifying.

Witnessed the same thing. Restarted the database server and the errors seem to have gone away.

I think it's just because the database server hasn't seen the web servers performing this well before and hiccuped.

Normally, with this level of traffic, the webservers would have start responding slowly, and not have stressed the database as much. Now that the webservers are snappy during periods of high traffic, the database crapped out.

I'm looking into what I can do to increase db performance.

I've increased the number of possible database connections allowed as well. This should remove the database errors caused by the increased number of web server connections we've set up.

A bunch of db errors, or just getting them after one or two pages?

It's slow for me almost nightly. Not a database error, just like a lag. Often I've noticed on the bottom of my browser it will show "waiting on vshare" or some variation of that, and it gets annoying. I love this site and want to spend more time on here, but the hangups drive my crazy.

Some of the other posters in the Mets forum are pretty slow. Is there anything you can do to fix that?

On topic its been going at a good speed for me lately, aside from the search function that basically freezes a good chunk of the time.

I'll see what I can do to look into the search feature. There may be a configuration issue there that we didn't realize.
