While it's far to early in Marcus' career to call him a bust, the reason he hasn't played well is because he has no real position. No real position means it's hard to get on the floor. Not getting on the floor means you won't develop an NBA game. Jones is taller and more athletic than Morris but isn't as skilled or as strong.

    I'd love to see someone like Jones dominate the league; he'd be an exciting guy to watch. He'd have to be a lot more skilled though, I think, to be a great player. I'd rather we get more of a sure thing in the draft.
    Perry Jones is much more athletic than Clark. 6'11 with a 7'2" wingspan. Seems Garnettesqe, though without the skill level obviously. I would pick him and stick him in the starting lineup at the 3. We really need an influx of athleticism on this geriatric team of ours.

    With our pick we can make a big steal if we draft Damian Lilliard .

    I don't know what thinking about PJ3 he could turn in big bust but he have the best potential of the draft with Drummond .

    I keep the same top 3 wish list but if Nash goes I put Lilliard in top of the list.

    Harkless , Ross or Lilliard.

    - Yes but I prefer Harkless he 's better defender , he 6"8 but he can grow and have too 7"2 wingspan.

    While things can change, Lillard is projected to go at #10. With the Hornets and Jazz needing a young PG, I see no way he falls to us :-/

    But being a good athlete and having good size isn't everything. Clark was no slouch athlete either and I would say he was more skilled than Jones out of college, probably stronger too. Saying that I do think Jones will be more successful in the NBA purely because I think he'll play around the rim a little more than Clark does. I think Jones could make a career out of put-back dunks, alley-oops, passing and maybe blocking a few shots but I don't see him as an all-star with a complete offensive and defensive game. He doesn't have the skills or the motor.

    basketball players should be drafted in the first round, athletes should be drafted in the second. If you can pick up someone who is both then good for you but I don't think Jones is one of them. It's a shame that some teams are so enamored by athletes that they go way higher than they should.

    Like I said though, I'd love for him to prove me wrong. Just with a different team. At this point, we need a sure-thing to revive a bit of hope in this franchise. A project wouldn't do, especialy if we're going all in next season.

    Only "sure thing" that's going to be available when we pick is probably gonna be Royce White if we want to take a chance on him with all the issues he's got going on.

    Speaking of Earl Clark....

    Earl Clark in 23 mins vs Cavs: 13 pts, 5-5 FGs, 3-4 FTs, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 2 blocks

    In 33 mins vs Philly: 14 pts, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 7/14 shooting.

    Orlando was +10 with him on the court.

    You guys think we traded him away too fast like we did with MANY other players?

    Nah, those are only small blips in an overall poor season. Even if he is improving he was probably wasted here; i'd rather we got Gortat than have a guy we can't develop sitting on the bench.

    It's a shame because I was excited about Clark when we drafted him. There were other picks I though we should have gone with but Earl clarks college tape was pretty sick. I was hoping for skinny Lamar Odom but, alas, that didn't happen.

    Wouldn't i be funny if we beat out Houston and Utah from the play-offs and then one of them gets the #1 pick in the lotto.... That would prove the Suns are cursed.

    If Jarred Sullinger is on the board and we do not draft him I will go CRAZY!!! he is a BIG athletic body that makes us have a BIG front court! hes the steal of the draft
    Gortat = the honey badger!!!

    Same here. Sully is the guy I want the Suns to draft if he's still on the board. If Sully is gone before we pick I still wouldn't mind Ross, Harkless, or Marshall.

    You think he could stand to lose a little more weight? I don't know how his weight right now but He was like 270 or something last year. Might get a little more explosive with an offseason of Suns conditioning.

    I'd love to get him, he's the most talented big man not named Anthony Davis; really knows how to use his body. I think he can put up good numbers in the NBA.

    Not sure how he'd fit in with us but if he's still on the board then we've got to take him just because he'd be a steal.

    ya he cant jump nethier can Zach Randolph.

    but his big body is something that you cant coach. He is 270 pounds and uses it all. Not many teams could match up with gortat and a pf like sullinger. Imagine his frame running pick and roll with nash. He is so big teams would be FORCED to go under it , and that is a big body to get around. He has great hands and great use of his body, so he would be a tough person to stop once he gets the ball in a good low post position.

    Gortat is learing and getting better at his mid range jumper. if he could improve at that aspect before next year, then draft sullinger. we could be a tough team.

    nash/telfair
    crawford/Brown
    hill/duds
    sullinger/morris
    gortat/fry

    I like that team ALOT, we are young/rebuilding but are still competing. and if sullinger and crawford can come in and help us we could be a top 5 seed
    Gortat = the honey badger!!!

    Sullinger is gonna be like Z-Bo and that's a HUGE problem.

    Z-Bo's teams were never successful until he came to Memphis and that's because the Grizzlies have the perfect personnel. I'm not sure that we have that kind of players to surround Sullinger with.

    Memphis has athleticism at all other 4 positions (Conley, Allen, Gay, Gasol) so they can afford to have one player with little athleticism....for us other than Brown, we don't have much athleticism. (Not counting Warrick cause he barely plays and not counting Chill expecting him to get the amnesty)
