I agree Brentz needs to learn better patience. However I believe he's going to be a very nice outfielder with power. I could see him putting up 35 Hrs a year for a 3 or 4 year span with 25 to 30 a year after that.

Hope you're right on Brentz but I doubt it. Reports are that he struggles a lot with breaking stuff. "Fastball I hit very much. Curve ball... bats are afraid." That makes a lot of sense with the track of his career. A-ball guys are mostly working on fastball control and he hammered the crap out of them (30HR/458AB). Jumping to AA you've got much better pitchers working on a wider range of offspeed stuff and he's dropped off considerably (4HR/153AB).

SoxProspects, often generous in their assessments, projects his ceiling as that of a third OF with slightly above average power. 25-35HR sounds like a stretch.

Jose Vinicio must be the most underrated prospect in the system. Where's the love?

The way our current OF looks? He will be up if he performs.

Barnes goes tonight against Winston-Salem. He finally gets to pitch a home game seeing that his last 7 outings have been on the road.

It's nice to see Swihart starting to hit down in Greenville...

Yay. A corner OFer who hits doubles. Very rare indeed.

Brentz hit another one, so his SLG increased to .463 now, but I'd like to see it over .500

He's on 7 days rest too. Damn that's screwed up in Salem.
