Bogaerts had 2 walks today and went 1-2, a good sign.

Brandon Jacobs is hot now, and has an OPS around .750 and has come back from his rough sign, great to see from a guy who I think has a lot of potential.

Personally I was shocked to read the positive comments that Dewey had of him. If one of the greatest defensive OFers we've ever had sees good things in him then reports of his defensive weakness might (hopefully) be exaggerated.

That would be great, because one of the biggest knocks on Jacobs is his defense.

From what I saw the knocks are justified. I think I actually winced a few times watching him in the OF and will contend that he's probably better fit as future DH than future LF. Dewey has a bit on me in terms of experience though...

Not bad at all. He has an ERA of 1.50 in his 2 starts for Salem so far.

Owens' last two starts: 9.0IP, 3H, 0ER, 7BB, 10K. Still needs to control the strikezone more but at least he's finally keeping runs off the board.

The Red Sox have signed Pablo Murena, a 17-year-old catcher, out of Panama. Murena became a catcher just a couple months ago, and the team was impressed with his arm strength at the position. While his defense was considered more advanced than his bat at the time of signing, Murena held his own at the plate in camp games at the team’s Dominican Academy.
