Hey, if it helps him to become a more disciplined hitter go ahead and keep him there for now. Its obvious that he can hit though. If he isnt traded i bet he comes up next june or july.
Streaky or not when you are .822 OPS in 400 AB's I don't care when the numbers are the same at the end.

Gotta disagree. With the streaky, impatient hitter, what you'll end up with is an Alfonso Soriano, a guy who might put up eye popping stats, almost entirely against weaker pitchers, but when the chips are down against the best pitchers, the guy'll get totally owned. Give me the smart patient hitter who doesn't wilt against good pitching every time. Those are the guys who'll get you hits in the playoffs and win big games.

I've never heard of anyone being able to fix "streaky" that what hitting is, streaks and slumps, and Brentz isn't impatient.

    Carl Crawford is impatient
Jackie Bradley Junior.... that is all

This is why we win 20 - 0 against a bad starter and get shutout by average ones.

Exactly, Nomar. Good but impatient hitters may crush pitchers who are making mistakes in the strike zone, like happened Sunday, but then against a good pitcher or even an average one who is having a good day, they'll get shut down because they'll swing at pitcher's pitches and make life too easy for the other guy.

Give me the patient hitter who will drive up pitch counts, looking for the perfect pitch to hit. A team of patient hitters may make games longer with their dedication to patience, but they'll also produce results over the long haul.

Might be time to promote Carpenter. Send Melancon down.

If Bogaerts is as good as hes showed he is so far in AA (incredibly small sample i know), we could see him late next year.

Glad to see my UConn brotha Barnes getting a solid outing too.

God damn why the **** is Valencia on this team? Punto is even better than him.

Id rather see Ciriaco at third and Iggy at SS. Or we could call up Gomez and put him at third despite his bad glove.
