That's true, hopefully he has a nice 1st half. We have so much depth at 3B in our system which is pretty damn valuable.

I think Middlebrooks is a keeper. I don't think you can say that is value is at an all-time high when it's increased every year since he made the move to third base full time.
That's fair, but you have to understand the concern with his k and bb rates. Also, his babip was pretty damn high. Granted, that's tough to put into perspective when dealing with the minor leagues.
I don't find any of those things to be all those concerning. Good hitters in the minor leagues in general have a high BABIP. Middlebrooks still has time to refine his approach at the plate and even if he doesn't there are plenty of successful hitters in the major leagues with similar walk and strikeout rates.
I think anyone expecting him to be Kevin Youkilis is going to be disappointed. I think he's more of an Adrian Beltre type hitter.
He's more of a Joe Crede with a slightly higher upside type player. Still very good, but nothing I wouldn't deal away for a stud pitcher. I understand throwing out his BABIP numbers but you can't excuse his terrible bb and k rates. Those are pretty big red flags for an elite prospect.
Wilson a starter or reliever long term? I bet the latter. He could be a set up man with his stuff (mid 90s FB and power slider).
Middlebrooks unless we get some good value in return like a cost control #2-3 starter ready to pencil in immediately, I would not deal. If he hits .280/.330/.475 and play good D, he's a keeper.
The Adrian Beltre that is now is heading into the HOF with 3-4 more good years like the last 2. He is also very dangerous and has become very tough to strike out. I wished we've retain him and deal Youkilis. Who's likely to play 3B 2013? Beltre swing is perfect at Fenway, a 2B park and he also has power. 40-502B and 30HR. 70-80 XBH a year. If Middlebrooks can do that we'd be set.

"Hole"
middlebrooks for teheran? sign me up
Perfect combos, Ghost bang out condos
Jeff from Hamo, ex three bangos
Bancos, stank hoes in plain clothes
Change those, bang those, same old, same old
Not going to happen, but that would be huge. But really I can see something happen between those 2 teams, Braves need 3B and we need SP. Wouldn't Minor be more realistic than Teheran?
Yeah, there seems to be a match between us and the Braves. You would have to guess one of their Fab Four (Teheran, Delgado, Minor or Vizcaino) is available. We've enough depth at 3B to make a deal work. Too bad Cecchini and Bogaerts aren't closer to the big leagues.Originally Posted by SirHizz:20607897

Bobby V is all in!
I don't really get why Wilson goes so under the radar
He reminds me of Fister but with a better fastball
Jackie Bradley Junior.... that is all
