Blue Jays to Kelly Johnson:
Kelly, we traded for you at the end of last season, because we believed in what you were willing to do not only for the rest of last year, but moving forward as well. We were thrilled with how you performed while here, and want you to be our second baseman as we move towards a long winning tradition. Keeping in mind deals that Aaron Hill and others signed, we offer you the following:
3 years/18.5 million
1st year: $5 million
2nd year: $6.5 million
3rd year(player option): $7 million
We know your arb value is 7 million, however, this would allow you to have the security of a 3 year deal, but also the ability to opt out after two if your looking for a bigger payday then.

Re: Johnny Damon
Dear Mr. Boras (),
The Rays feel that Johnny was a key cog in our run at contention last year and that he also enjoyed his time with our club. The Rays would love to have him back on our team to fill the DH role once more. We would like to extend your client an offer of $2,000,000 for the 2012 season with performance bonuses worth up to $500,000 and a $2,000,000 club option for the 2013 season with a $500,000 buyout. The deal would guarantee Johnny $2,500,000 with a possibility of being worth up to $5,000,000. As an added incentive, we are willing to include a clause that states that if Johnny is traded, his 2013 club option will become a player option. As he will be 38 years old going into the next season, we feel that this is a fair offer for his services. We await your response.

Kerry Wood, we would love to bring you back again next year. You are truly the modern-day Mr. Cub. Because you were so generous last year in coming back to the Cubs, we would like to double your pay to $3 million for one year.
