Just my opinion but if Montenegro (His country of birth) does not field a team then no he will not play in the Olympics. I will try and look for some articles to clarify this.

If you look at the FIBA world ranking for 2011 Montenegro does not appear and FIBA Europe will field 4 teams for the Olympics. Since Mirotic won't play for Spain I don't see him in the Olympics. I won't and can't base solely on the 2011 rankings but it is pretty logical to think they won't qualify.

Mirotic has only averaged 20 MPG and his PPG is about 11.5 in the past month. His reboundshave also come down a bit but I seem to think they are playing him conservatively and he has not completely cracked the starting lineup. My thought is he will join us after the 2013 ACB season. Once he gets a full year of playing with us he might be ready for the 2014/2015 for some serious minutes, all this is hypothetical though.

I don't think he can play with Montenegro anymore.

you should have seen the tabo sephalosha youtube videos from Europe. We thought we had the next Dwayne Wade on our hands. Beware of Youtube videos.

    Quick update:

    Ater 25 games:

    MPG - 20
    PPG - 10
    RPG - 4.5
2 point FG%: 54 (Not sure on from what range these shots stats are)
3 point FG%: 38 (ACB arc is shorter than NBA)
    FT%: 68

The ACB portal does not break it down like most other sites in NBA. Overall he doing ok. Needs more development and to put on another 15 pounds without losing agility. I seriously think we should try to get him over after the 2012/2013 ACB season.

So, what is the current consensus as to how good this kid is going to be, and when he will show up?

The current consensus is no one has any idea. Bulls didn't have any immediate needs that could be addressed in that draft so they rolled the dice with the best talent available fully knowing it could be multiple years before Mirotic would even be an option. Most think they hope to bring him over after Boozer's contract expires.

Most likely scenario? A borderline All-Star ala Deng/Boozer/Noah.

Yeah, people are saying Nowitzki-lite, Kukoc-ish type player. I expect good things.

Good shooter, stretch 4 type PF (perfect for our offense IMO) that can create his own shot. Young enough that he can become a good/great defender kind of like how Asik did. Hopefully he is a good rebounder as well. Oh how great it would be to have a Boozer with the ability to drain three balls and be a good defender.

What is his possibility of becoming a good defender, exactly?

Asik has great IQ when it comes to defense... He may be faster than Mirotic is in a straight up sprint. I'd like to see that.

Mirotic can end up being a Ryan Anderson type guy that isn't as efficient but has the ability to create for himself ala Dirk-lite. Most likely nothing special rebounding wise or passing wise, and can be an above-average defender.

Maybe a Turkoglu/Anderson combo, with the driving ability of Hedo & similar shooting with good defense & a middle-of-the-order type passer.

From what i've read, at least.
