If we sign a couple of good players first can we actually go over the cap say 3 or 4 Million to resign Nash (we should have his bird rights i think)?

    Sign Ray Allen.

    Nash
    Allen/Redd
    Duds/Chilly
    Smith/Kief
    Mcgee/Lopez ( or FA)

That is a good team and we would also have a draft pick.
i hate these gortat trades so silly. he is a really good center for cheap. magee is a head case and does not give full effort and says he wants 16 mill a year that is a joke.

The way i see it we have 2 options
Amnesty jchill or trade him for a pick
    Sign ray allen and kg
Bring back brown(it should be a priority even if he wants 5-6 mill)
    resign nash and hill

    Nash/bassy
    Allen/brown
    Hill/dudley
    Kg/morris
    Gortat/frye

    Or go young
    Max out batum or gordon
    Bring back brown
    Sign beasley
Trade for an all star pf if not resign lopez for cheap

    Nash/bassy
    Batum or gordon/brown
    Beasley/dudley
    Morris??/hakim or frye??
    Gortat/lopez??

Brown is reminding me of a younger quicker Jason Richardson. Better defender too. I don't think going after Ray Allen makes sense anymore. Unless we can get an Eric Gordon, I say stand pat with Brown.
Make a big push for KG.

Show Hill the pasture. Resign Nash and Brown. Agree, go after Garnett. Draft the best wing player available in the draft (Kidd-Gilchrist) at our position. Trade Childress or Warrick. Not enough playing time for $10 million at the end of the bench.

This is the lineup I want to see next year

    Nash/Bassy
    Brown/Redd
    Batum/Dudley/Childress
    KG/Frye/Morris
    Gortat/Oden

While it's not out of the realm, Oden probably isn't playing next season. I would prefer, right now, to extend the qualifying offer to Lopez. I believe I read it would be 4mil. If he wants a long term deal, maybe give him a 3 year deal for 4 per. He's a very good backup big and that's fair value.

Batum is a very realistic possibility since he's an UFA. Thing is, if he's a SF, we are deep there. I'd much rather make a run at Eric Gordon and if we sign him, let Brown walk.

And I've been on the 'get KG' bandwagon for a while, so I'm totally down for that.

Hill is likely going to want to return so we need to find room for him too.

Kidd-Gilchrist will be a top 5 pick it's starting to look like. Some experts think Davis and Kidd will go 1-2. That'd be amazing. It'd also explain why they won the tourney. Just not fair.
I think a Perry Jones or Harkless is something more likely.

If we don't plan on keeping Lopez, we should make a run for a late round pick or early second rounder and snag Fab Melo. He's a project but could pay off in a few years.

If we do pick up KG or another starting PF..do we keep Lopez if he wants to stay for cheap? Will Frye and Morris play well together if Lopez is gone?

The way Morris played last night makes me want to trade Frye.

You guys figure out a trade that includes Brooks(re signed) and Frye and we might have something...i was thinking Thompson and T-Will or Hickson and Matthews.

Yeah i'd love to get Fab Melo. He's got the big body and could be a great post defender. If we can trade down a few spots and nab an early 2nd rounder too that would be awesome.

finally people keeping it real with trades or signings for next year. yes hang onto nash and hill for a couple of more years. no one mentioned trading gortat yeah!

    nash/brooks
    gordan/brown/redd
    hill/dudley
    gortat/frye
    kg/morrison

look at trading lopez for another draft pick so the suns can start working on the future and integrate these guys with great veterans in nash, hill, and kg. look anyway possible to trade warrick and chilly. pretty much have to be a dump for someone elses dump

I just dont know if im ready to hand Brown a sizeable multi-year deal. He's been superb as of late but he is notorious for going on these great stretches then having significant drop offs. If we land Gordon, it doesn't really make sense to give Brown the money he will command especially if we plan on making a run at Batum. Redd makes much more sense money wise and in terms of contract length. Redd is also kind of like a specialist which is the kind of guy you want backing up Gordon. Gordon/Redd/Batum(or Hill)/Dudley would be a great wing rotation.
