Tough game to open but then 3 easy ones in a row, should be a good way to start the season. I see a record of 9-4 at the end of the month with losses to:

    Canucks
    Capitals
    Devils
    Islanders

The Western Canada trip is brutal. Hate staying up till 1:30 PM EST to finish off the games. 9-4, or 8-5 type record at the end of this would be my guess too. Pittsburgh looked awesome in preseason, and Sid could return in the last week or so.

Agreed, starting the season in the far West is pretty rough but at the same time, I would rather get it out of the way while guys are still fresh than in the middle of the season

Pretty much in agreement with the two of you. I see the west coast start causing a slow start but I see the Pens going 8-4-1 this month.

    Losing to:
    Canucks
    Oilers
    Capitals (SO)
    Jets
    Islanders

Great win last night, nice to start the season with 2 points and it didn't matter giving them 1.

    The Good

    1) Special Teams - after wacthing last season end as the result of an awful powerplay, the Pens scored twice on the power play and once shorthanded. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and should only get better with more chemistry and the return of Sid

    The Bad

    2) The Defense - this is questionable I know but they need to clean it up a little. After watching D Sedin have time to pick his shot right in front of the net and other times when Canucks were right in front of the crease, they need to be a little better clearing the traffic

    Other

    3) Fleury - it was typical Fleury last night, some spectacular saves and then he lets in that awful goal. I know 99% of the time he stops it but that goal also put us in overtime and could have cost us the game. Overall, I was happy with his performance
