TCU Officially a Big 12 Member

TCU accepted the Big 12's invitation to join the conference, the school announced at a news conference on Monday.

The Big 12 board of directors voted unanimously to accept TCU as a full conference member.

A move to the Big 12 allows TCU to rekindle some of the rivalries it had for so long in the Southwest Conference, which disbanded in 1996.

Crazy. Wonder how bad this hurts the Big East.

Good pickup. TCU getting left out of the Big XII initially is probably the best thing that could've happened to their program.

This crushes the Big East. You have to think that they were already the basement of the BCS conferences and this year they have also lost Pitt and Syracuse. At the moment they only have 6 members and out of those West Virginia and Louisville are in discussion to go to the SEC and Big 12 while UConn is in discussion to join the ACC.

They have either got to start adding some teams to their conference real soon or just let it crumble apart.

TBH, I can't get off of the fact that TCU committed to the Big East only one year ago. I always thought the Big 12 should be the one that makes the play for TCU, but I think this shows the sorry state of the NCAA that TCU is jumping ship on the Big East before ever playing a Big East game.

Actually, they will only be renewing old rivalries from when they were in the SWC. I remember TCU was the punching bag for that conference for years, a frequent dweller in Steve Harvey's infamous Bottom Ten ranking!
