SEA trade - not Ichiro, nor King Felix..

I'd like to acquire Chone Figgins on the cheap.

    Here's why:

Starting IF Tex, Cano, Jeter, Arod --- GIVEN

Starting OF - Gardy, Grandy, Swish (unless, they trade him which I doubt) -- GIVEN

    C - Martin

Figgins is a proven GLOVE who can play BOTH IF and OF and can fill a lot of positions (days off for 2b, 3b, any OF)

He can RUN ---> pinch runner late in games

    Switch Hitter

He hasn't hit as expected, but with all main roles filled we need guys that can multi-purpose and he can. I think SEA will look to move him cheap as they view him as a starter

    Playoff EXPERIENCED!!

...and YES, a Yankee who can BUNT

His OFF has fallen way off, but off the bench it should not matter as much

Absolutely not. Honestly, Ramiro Pena is better at this point and I don't want him either.

Nunez can do everything Figgins can do and he does it a lot better.

No chance. His numbers last year were absolutely atrocious.

    I keep Nunez too

BUT....Figgins is a better glove on the IF and a better/experienced OF

His OFF as a backup should be a major deal. He just needs to play DEF and be disuptive

I think he'd be a good depth addition

The guy is worth nothing, and is being paid like an All-Star. Save the money and put it towards pitching, really stop it with this, "let's make a trade just for the sake of making a trade," crap.

What offense? The .188 batting average, .241 OBP, and .484 OPS aren't appealing in any way, even for a bench player. Add in his current contract and you've got a player with extremely low value.

Why would he want to come here... first, he is starting in Seattle (or at least signed on as one), so you want to pay a utility player starting money... not

Now, I do realize that he needs to get out of seattle.Beltre was considered a star.. moved to Seattle and sucked... got away to Boston and was an all star again, moved to texas and had a great year... Maybe the problem is that Seattle is an offensive black hole...

Which is also scary to think about for pitchers... is felix really that good? or does that stadium punish offense so much that anybody can look good?
