The Winnipeg Jets have announced the signing of unrestricted free agent Kyle Wellwood.
According to capgeek.com, he inked a one-year deal worth $700,000 which were the terms that were originally speculated. Wellwood recorded five goals and 13 points in 35 games with the San Jose Sharks last season before adding seven points in 18 contests in the playoffs.
Not bad. Wellwood will probably get some chances on the PP. This is one of those low risk, high reward type deals. Wellwood does have some semi big seasons under his belt. He had two fourty point seasons in Toronto, though that was like four seasons ago. If he shows up in shape, and gets a chance in this line-up, then I could see him hitting fourty again.
