    Vettel swearing to Coultard probably to sound more bad ***. No Vettel, it will never happen.

    I look forward to Dallas although I believe it's going to be on at an awful time for us Australians. Ahh well.

    Vettel had a lot of luck but what a bloody great drive that was. You could tell how frustrated he was early on and I thought a serious crash was around the corner for him after he nearly ran into Ricciardo but Jesus did he do well. I think Mark Webber was drunk.

    Sergio Perez needs to really calm down, since he signed the McLaren deal he's not been good at all. He nearly ended Di Resta's race and did end Grosjean and Webber's races with a completely careless and reckless move back onto the track. He'd better be better than that next season. McLaren themselves better be as well.

    Kimi Raikkonen is such a legend, great to finally see him win and give his team some stick on the radio

    This is obviously not nearly as big a deal but I thought Paul Di Resta did really well. He was right at the back early on but got up into the points. Well done to him and Force India.

    In lieu of such dominant form, then, the most obvious World Championship permutations are as follows:

    * If Vettel wins in Austin then Alonso needs to finish fourth (or higher) to keep the title fight alive;

    * If Vettel finishes second then Alonso must finish eighth or higher;

    * If Vettel finishes third then Alonso needs to finish in the points;

    ...which is another way of saying that Vettel can take the title with a podium if Alonso fails to score. The Spaniard has failed to finish in the points only twice this year, retiring on both occasions after a collision at the first corner.

    Regardless of the result I personally can't wait for the grand prix Sunday. It's been far too long that F1 has not had a race on U.S. soil.

    @SkySportsMike:
    FIA's Charlie Whiting says DRS can only be used in DRS zone itself during practice and qualifying from 2013 #AustinGP #skyf1
    I like this idea a lot

    Jesus they need to get rid of that pit lane alarm. Less than fifteen minutes into P1 and I'm already sick of it

    There's absolutely no grip out there. I'm sure it will get better as it rubbers in, but I wonder how Alonso feels about it. It's not really different from a wet track, which is where Alonso has really proved his class this season. If the grip stays low, Alonso will have a real chance of pole position.

    @Jamesallenonf1:
    #f1 Immigration guys at Houston were saying that 'half of Mexico is here for the race' - not kidding. Go Perez!!

    No way I'm tuning in at 4:30 in the morning to watch this tomorrow/Monday. But go Webber none-the-less.

    I have nothing better to do, so I'm going to watch, at the very least I'll watch the race.

    Didn't watch qualifying, but I'm definitely waking up to watch the race. Could possibly be the race of Alonso's life.

    There's a replay on right after the race at 6am (who knows why) so I'll probably watch that. Which will work out well with Ravens v Steelers on soon after.
