There are like three pretty good specs in the upcoming Rule 5 draft could see the Braves getting one of them.

I don't know why Baseball America love Bethancourt so much, i'm surprised to see Cabrera this high on the list and i expected to see Ahmed make the list.

I'm shocked to see how highly Bethancourt has been ranked on a number of the lists. Sure defensively he's great, but he hasn't even shown us the ability to hit minor league pitching yet.

We do, just no one near Myers or anything like that. Gattis could very well make the team this year if he can play left, that's a big if but I hope it works out that way. Otherwise I suspect he'll be tossed over to first base and we'll be trading him.

We've got guys that can hit, and we've got guys that can field their positions, we just don't seem to have much that can do both.

Oh don't get me wrong, I haven't given up on him completely. It's just that he's shown no real progression with the bat thus his very high ranking on these lists seems odd. Also, scouts seem divided on him, some thinking he'll never be able to handle major league pitching the others thinking he'll develop more pop.

    MinorLeagueBlog:
#Braves Evan Gattis has blasted his 10th Home Run of the Venezuela Winter League season.
First game back after taking a short break.

    ajcbraves
Both Evan Gattis and Ernesto Mejia homered tonight in Venezuela off Carlos Zambrano. Gattis has 10 HR now, Mejia 12. Not too shabby

I think mejia makes the team this year. Could be a massive bench bat. Would not be surprised if Gattis is the starting catcher out of spring if we do not sign a LFer and if he produces moves to LF

Only reason I don't think Ernesto Mejia does is his K/BB split.

51 Ks to only 7 walks. Thats in under 200ABs.

Gattis may follow the Simba path and just force his way up here at this rate. Unless we get a legitimate threat in LF, Gattis is gonna be prowling.
