I think what he is trying to say is Gattis hasn't been a crappy hitter in the minors, he has raked at every level since being drafted.

Ah, I misunderstood. Now I see what he was pointing to. To be clear on my end, I wasn't trying to equate Gattis with Bo Diaz or to say that I don't think Gattis is good. I like him a lot, and I think he's going to be good. Certainly it's better that he go down there and rake than go down there and suck. But I just think his VWL numbers on their own are meaningless and that penciling him into a starting job based on those stats would be a mistake. He needs to come to spring training and hit, and even then I might prefer to use him as a reserve and let him try to mash his way into a starting job. He's an unusual prospect, and given his age he should have to earn every ounce of playing time he gets.

The two guys in the VWL ahead of Gattis in OPS are Luis Jimenez, a 30-year-old DH who wandered through seven minor-league organizations plus a stint in Japan before finally getting a cup of coffee with a horrible Seattle team in 2012, and Carlos Maldonado, a 33-year-old catcher who posted a whopping .696 OPS for the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate last season. In 2011, the league-leader in OPS was Gregor Blanco, who followed up his .998 VWL OPS with a .676 performance in the majors.

We are number 27 on the list, i understand that because of graduations and trades our farm has thinned out, but we can't sleep on it, for example the Cards are a great team right now and they're number one on this list. We don't have a first round draft pick this year, so we need to start spending more money in the draft because as a team who has a middle of the pack payroll, prospects is the most important thing for success.

In my opinion the team is set for at least the next three years, lots of our players are 25 or less and under contract, we have a very solid offense that is young and under contract and a really good pitching who is also under contract. We have some good arms in the farm (that's the only reason we weren't 30 on the list). I think we should need to start drafting high school guys instead of college guys. High school players have more upside and we can go overslot to a player who is committed to some college, we need to do that because i don't see us getting a top 10 draft position in several years. We need to start retooling our farm and drafting high school players is the way, since we have time for develop them because our MLB team is young.

Yeah I can see them called up to the BP after they hit their innings limit. Going forward both of those guys "could" be #2's. Wood looks nasty and Graham is a 95 MPH GB machine.

Mejia off to a great start. 6 HR in 35 ABs. Can hit for average and power. Not even trade bait? DH

Alex Wood, only 2 starts but solid so far. 9 IP 6 H 2 ER 2 BB 13 K. Personal favorite.

Graham off to slow start and Salcedo hanging in there, boost in power would help. Bethancourt holding his ground offensively early on.

Our farm is actually very weak right now, only thing we have is pitching. Less than a handful of good hitters.

Alex Wood has 4 starts so far this season. In those four starts, he has given up TWO runs across 22 innings. Sadly, his record his 0-1. Dude is a flat out stud.
