Sources say former NHL on TSN analyst Craig MacTavish will be named the head coach of the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.
MacTavish's last coached in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers for eight seasons from 2000-2009, reaching the Stanley Cup Final in 2006.
After a long playing career, MacTavish began his coaching career as an assistant with the New York Rangers in 1997.
After two seasons, he took up the same role with the Oilers before being promoted to head coach in 2000.
The Wolves are the new AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, after the Manitoba Moose moved to St. John's, Newfoundland.
