Who was the last Flyers dman to score a hattrick in the regular season or playoffs? What was special about the accomplishment?
It's not a real tough question but it's a good one to start with.
Also, remember..only one post per person, I will take off 1/2 point for spelling and you need to show your work in order to get full credit...LOL...just kidding...feel free to answer as many times as you want.
Well it should have been dedicated to Lindros' brain cells because Scott Stevens destroyed them...but really it was dedicated to:
Gene Hart- he died in the offseason
Dmitri Tertyshny- died in a boat accident in the offseason (I'll be honest I had to look up his name, but I knew it was a rookie Russian dman)
and the last name you are looking for is I believe
Roger Neilson- he was diagnosed with cancer early in the year.
Overall, that may be one of the worst season's in the history of the Flyers. Not only the tragic loss of Hart & Tertyshny but losing to Claude Lemieuix and the Devils after being up 3-1 after Lindros retunred from injury and was blasted by Stevens of ocurse.
We all know Ron Hextall scored two goals in his NHL career. One again Boston in the regular season and the other against Washington in the playoffs. I have questions about a couple of defensemen in those games.
1) The Boston game was very intense, in fact both Dave Brown and Craig Berube each received 2 separate 5 minute majors for fighting during the 1st period. There was an incident that really set the Flyers off. One of their defenseman was severely injured during the 1st when he was sandwiched by two Bruins. The questions are: Who was the Flyers dman and what was the injury?
2) The Washington game was kind of a wild one. The Flyers won 8-5. The game was made 7-5 on a weird goal by a Flyers dman. The goal was on kind of a soft, floating type shot that found it's way past Pete Peters. So, the question is: What Flyers dman, got the goal to make the game 7-5?
