The secret a lot of people miss is that Dirk has actually always been a good playoff performer. Those who said he was a choker look like fools now. Thankfully, I was never one of the idiots who bought into that.
I dont know if I ever said he was a choker, but there is a difference, he along with his team actually delivered this time instead of being eliminated, that makes him better during these playoffs compared to others because he achieved his ultimate goal, as the main guy.

Look at his actual game though, he does the same stuff this year that he did last year or the year before etc. His shot has always been one of the most unguardable shots in the game. It didn't suddenly become more difficult to guard because his team won a championship.
I agree, but he actually delivered this time, making him automatically better than years before when he couldnt..

Its kind of like comparing 2006 Kobe to 2009-2010 Kobe, sure 2006 Kobe was a more dynamic scorer, but I realized that many people, on these boards especially, began placing Kobe in the top 10 and top 5 after he won in 2009 and 2010... This is what I see anyway its just an observation..

Exactly, Stockton going 18 is the same reason why people wanted the Big O to go in the top 10, they see that he averaged a triple double, and nearly a triple double in his entire career so they vote for him to be in the top 10, to me its kind of the same concept with Stockton, all time assists and steals leader, not too many accolades, gets voted in at 18 over KG, Pettit, Mikan, Baylor and so on..

EDIT: Karl Malone was voted in before Stockton my mistake

FYI, I'm going to be out of town for a week and a half and thus will only have iphone access. So if a mod wants to continue the list then go for it otherwise we probably won't have another one after Sunday for a about a week and a half.

Can people start voting for Havlicek and Pettit? I think they deserve the next two spots along with KG but I know that's not going to happen because Lebron is probably going to be voted in soon

How did Russell slip to 5th? He is easily top 3. Really only Jordan has a case over him.

Kinda surprising to see Scottie go ahead of guys like Barry, Isiah, Wade and even Cousy. Guys who pretty much won either league mvp or carried a team to the title as the best player on the team.
