What #1 overall pick has had best career?

To save some of the work, I only put guys who have been all-stars before on here. And the cutoff was 1999 because that was the last year where a player was worthy until A-Rod in 93. So who would you say has had the best career as of today? There's 2 MVPs, one that looks to be MVP soon, a guy that finished 2nd in the Cy Young last year, and another that has made another ASG despite being very young. Here are the #1 picks that are up for contention:

    Josh Hamilton - #1 in 1999
    Adrian Gonzalez - #1 in 2000
    Joe Mauer - #1 in 2001
    Justin Upton - #1 in 2005
    David Price - #1 in 2007

I'd go with Gonzalez if it were me, mainly because he can stay healthy (unlike Mauer and Hamilton) and is on track to earn himself an MVP award this year.

Good question, it has to be between both Mauer and Gonzalez doesnt it? Hamilton has had to many issues\injuries to play the amount of the the others have and neither have upton or price.

I would probably go with Mauer even if his catching career looks like it is coming to an end soon, dude has been unreal for the last 7 years while at a premium position.

    Griffey?
    A-Rod?
    Chipper?

But Mauer of the above group has had the best career, with Adrian close behind

With the deepest of regrets I am announcing that I will be leaving Pro Sports Daily. No reason in particular but wanted to thank everyone for a great 6 years here. Lots of great discussion and good poll series as well. Also fun re-drafts. Best of luck to you all in the future.

Mauer. But there's a good chance Upton can have the best overall career. He's still very young.
