Jose Berrios will likely make the start tomorrow night in Cleveland. Not necessarily the best matchup for his first start of the year, but we will see what he has very quickly.
In other news, the Twins have been busy recently, sending Boshers and Gibson down to Rochester. Danny Santana was traded to the Braves for lefty reliever Kevin Chapman and $$$. Drew Rucinski was recalled from Rochester and returned there. Michael Tonkin was DFA'd. Lefty reliever Adam Wilk was claimed off waivers from the Mets. Justin Haley was activated from the DL, so we'll get a chance to see what he has soon.

Berrios had a nice outing today -- 7.2 IP, 2 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk 4 Ks. He won his first game of the year. I doubt if its his last.

The Twins picked up another "reclamation project", signing Dillon Gee to a minor league contract. He could make it to the big club relatively soon if he shows that he can get people out. Turley and/or Wilk could be released to make room for him on the major league roster.

Mauer is back on the DL with a lower back strain. He is having a decent season, but is getting a bit old.

in the super reclamation project category....or rather the senior circuit....is Fat Toad..........wonder what they expect that to be worth (other than maybe filling in some starts in Rochester before they realize he's finally done)

I like Joe, but if he were to decide to retire it'd allow Vargas to play a lot more, which would allow some other guys more ABs as well...maybe even Park would earn a move and become the new Vargas
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

Big Sexy actually has pitched OK for the Twins. Not interested in bringing him back again next year, but he certainly isn't hurting anything for now.

The Twins are 19-10 this month, the most wins in the bigs in August.

Gabriel Moya has been recalled and is currently pitching to the Padres. Lets see how he does down the stretch. This is a perfect opportunity for him to get his feet wet.
