7 players were added to the 40-man roster today, prior to the deadline for the rule 5 draft:http://m.twins.mlb.com/news/article/...m-rule-5-draft. This brings the total on the roster to 38. Could be that the team isn't done dealing this winter.

I doubt they are....Plouffe is getting a lot of interest, Vargas could be heading somewhere if we sign Park....Vargas and/or Arcia might yield something usable in 2016 in a trade..........kinda surprised they didn't protect Michael, tho........and still not sure what they do with Plouffe, Mauer, Sano, Vargas, Park, and Walker all basically logjammed at one or both of the corner spots or DH

The Twins have signed a few guys to minor league contracts with invites. Among them are Darin Mastroianni, Wilfredo Tovar and Brandon Kinzler. Looking forward to seeing what Darin has left and what the others can do.

HUGE signing today!... We brought in Fernando Abad, Left Handed Reliever who had a great season last year in Oakland. I think this pretty much solidifies our bullpen. Lets call it an offseason and get ready for a nice playoff run next season.

Buxton is not ready . He needs lots of at bats in the minors. That will give the Twins time to shake things out. Plouffe will be gone and Sano will move back to third. That will open a spot for Buxton before or by the deadline.

Lets face it. Buxton was preety much over matched last year when he came up. Sure he had a couple of good games. He need more time in the minors to come up and stay in the majors. You don't want to have him start off in the majors and send him back if he isn't doing well. Bouncing him around will only hurt him. I think he's going to be a good player in time.
But for now let Danny Santana who proved he can play or Rosario fill the spot. Hell even Nunez or Arcia . Not like any of those guys will hurt more than Buxton.
You can say all you want about Buxtons potential but potential just means he hasn't done anything yet.
The Twins are NOT going to contend anytime soon. Thats not a bash its the facts.
The future looks bright with lots of top prospects but between Sano and Buxton they could have close to 400 K's this year. No need to rush things. Work slowing with Sano and let Buxton get 150-200 at bats in the minors.

Rosario played a lot of center in the minors. Santana can play center. I'm not really concerned with either of them there.

I think Buxton will make the next step this year. That's just my own feeling though.

Santana in center until June which gives Buxton much needed ab's in AAA to gain confidence. Rosario in left and Sano in right. Arcia is the tough one. 4th outfielder and occasional DH if and when Park inevitably struggles with his first look at major league pitching. If Arcia is "right" (big if) it gives us a much needed left handed bat with some power.

We're talking Santana in center.....problem is, his struggles at the plate were just as noticeable as Buxton's

Arcia is far better as trade bait than anything else for the Twins...he's not a good fielder so occasional DH/PH is all he's worth on the roster

Santana put up very good numbers two years ago and so what if he struggles with the bat Its Buxton gaining confidence with the bat in the minors for 2-3 months. What do you think happens to this kid if he struggles again if he starts the season in the majors? Plus he missed much of the 2014 season and some of the 15 season. he needs the good at bats in the minors. Santana is ww material anyway.
I just hope management does the right thing by Buxton an start him in the minors so they don't jerk him around. When he comes back he'll be back to stay for years to come.

Hope Buxton is ready and starts the year with the big club. Just being realistic and thinking a little more (not much) seasoning will serve him and the twins "BIGLY" as the Donald says.

Arcia is not good on defense and is worth little in trade RIGHT NOW but his bat could be good and we are not exactly loaded with left handed bats. If he is hitting, could see him split dh with Park and Park sometimes spelling Joe and yes sadly, playing outfield on a rare occasion (maybe when Sano needs a day to rest or dh.................can't have both in outfield at same time).
