Didn't realize I was over the cap (**** you, Chris Drury) so I needed to make a deal to get under. I also wanted to strengthen my forward ranks and replace a bit of the youth I lost in the Weber deal. Huberdeau fits the bill on both, and while losing Girardi breaks up the Greatest PSD Mock Defense Ever (apparently), it's still plenty strong, especially if Ellerby fulfills his considerable potential. Hate to lose Boyle, but he was the most expendable salary and let's be real, my fourth line center isn't gonna make or break me in the playoffs. Great working with the Panthers, this deal came together quite nicely.

We love this deal, i feel horrible giving up Huberdeau i love his game he is going to be good, but guys like Girardi don't come along very often. Boyle will be a nice addition as well.
