At the Record, John Brennan writes about the transformation that MSG is currently undergoing.

He quotes MSG President Scott O’Neil as saying that he wants to keep the same feeling of tradition at MSG when it re-opens in the fall.

O’Neil also said that the construction crews started a few days after the Knicks were eliminated from the playoffs and walls and offices were taken out to build the new concourse that will be twice as wide as the old one.

So the way I see it, Phase 2 will take place during our assault on 1st place in the East and Phase 3 will usher in the first Championship run we've seen in many, many years!!!

First they take away Yankees stadium and now The Garden...

I'm sure it will be very nice but there's no way that the old feeling will remain.

the garden needed a renovation...im sure they will keep a decent amount of old stuff bc t is in actuality the same building - unlike how the yankees and mets built entirely new stadiums. im just happy the arena will be much more tv friendly around the ice and they said in some spots the concourse near the concession stands is twoce as big - finally!

the concourse as well as the outside walking area will be twice as big as in previous years.....if youve been to the garden, which im sure u have, you will know that when u get off the escalators and into the hallways there are walls on both sides of you.....the outside walls will be removed and there will be space directly out to windows that will almost double the size of the entire hallways

Just noticed the other night that the rangers don't come out between the benches anymore, they have to go down the end boards and thru a walkway. Does anyone know if this is just because of the ongoing construction or will this be the "new" area for entering or exiting the ice. I hope it is not the latter, because when they come out thru the tunnel, it is awesome!

They need to improve the flow at the concession stands by having multiple lines instead of one which they had last year. It takes too long to pay.

Don't forget the people upstairs had no concessions that's why lines were long in the lower concourse last year. The concessions should move much faster next year simply because of the concourse upstairs and how many more options there are. Hopefully it all works out how it should.

I'm guessing that there will be the 2 main concourses now? Since MSG will be the lower bowl and upper bowl only.
