Giants pursuing Pudge. Discuss other options here

This is a devastating loss the Giants. What are some catchers that Giants might be considering?

    - Ryan Doumit (PIT)

    -Ivan Rodriguez (WASH)

    -MLB DRAFT 2011?

I really don't know what is available (Bengie Molina)?

(SORRY IF SOMEONE POSTED THIS THREAD ALREADY)

What is some other trades Giants should start thinking off for offense since the Giants are struggling just to score runs. Reyes, Beltran, Wright, & other players?

I would think Doumit would be the easiest to get, while I think Pudge may be the best fit

I think we should look at putting Pablo back at catcher and look at getting another INF who plays on the left side.

absoultely not, we need Panda to come back and repeat what he did in 09 by carrying this offense. Our entire season depends on what he and Belt can do offensively

    Runzler for Doumit.
De'Aaron Fox | Buddy Hield | Bogdan Bogdanovic | Skal Labissiere

I think Doumit is our best option as we have a history of raping the Pirates in deals Pudge would add nothing to our offense.

Playing catcher isn't really going to impede him that much offensively. He has done it before. Plus he is built more like a catcher.

Do we not think it would be silly to put maybe our next best offensive producer at catcher to replace our previous best offensive producer who was constantly getting hurt at catcher? You cant argue that we needed to move Buster Posey to 1st because we need his bat and then suggest we put Pablo behind the dish. That is just silly.

Does that first sentence make any sense?

    Betting on Doumit.

    Runz/Affeldt for him.

I suggest everyone look at Pudge's stats the past few years.

    Then look at Whiteside's.

Then think for a few moments.

This should lead you to believe that adding him will do absolutely nothing.

Honestly, I'm not saying that we should do it, it just something that I think we should look at.

    Doumit would be ****ing LEGIT

But i don't think we can get him that easily

And again, I don't think we'll get anyone anytime soon

Pitts has leverage... they know we desperately need a catcher. Teams like Boston might drive up the price by showing some sort of interest.

I think Sabean will hit the easy route button and trade for Pudge... since it would cost us less and he's a vet savy guy.

He can still play behind the plate... but his bat is gone.

Boston has shown zero interest in Doumit.
