Which would explain them not taking the Einhorn deal.

I am not surpried by this, though I did expect them to have to pay 300 million but not the 1 billion that fraud Picard was looking for.

Yeah, now that they seem to be off the hook, no need for them to sell a portion of the team, the news just keeps getting better and better.

Lets hope that they have the money they can spend and they let Sandy do his job. This might not be a disaster if they really owe nothing to Madoff. The Mets might still have a good payroll next year now.

Yes! Thank God! However I do not want Sandy to go hard in this off-season, unless its for C.J. Wilson. The year after, the FA class is much better and we'll have a ton of money to spend.

This gives us even more leverage with trading Beltran.

This is definitely good news for both the Wilpons personally and for the Mets organization as a whole. I know fans want the Wilpons gone but the fact is they love NY, want to win, and have always spent money for big time free agents. I don't know how much they owe to certain groups like their lawyers but this is good news.
