I am confused on the response of 0 to the question "What will it take for him to be in the argument for the best of all time?" Are you saying there is nothing he has to do to be in the argument or nothing he does in the rest of his career will put him in the argument?
take steroids
People really need to learn Williams' and Ruth's numbers before asking GOAT questions in baseball. (And Bonds if you don't mind his 2000 numbers, but let's not discuss that here.)
Let's say he finishes with the following stats:
3,700 hits
800 HRs
2,300 RBIs
2,300 runs
The last three would be records, with those numbers would he not be in the argument? Now are those numbers possible. If he plays 10 more years he would have to average:
163 hits
36 HRs
98 RBIs
101 runs
Those aren't impossible to obtain considering that those numbers are worse than what he had this year and he had a down year. Basically he would just have to stay healthy and I think those numbers would be realistic.
No one who played in the "Steroid Era" will every become the greatest of all-time, even if they are never accused of it, and never test positive.
Baseball history has already been written.
This WS is good for him, but he really didnt play well outside of 1 game, which was an amazing game. He even had a flat out awful game in game 2. Im not sure what this WS does for him.
But he can, AP is amazing.
