usb problem

so when ever i plug the usb cord into my laptop the screen on my laptop goes black and it only shows it on my TV.. i also cant get sounds to work on the TV only the laptop..

i have tried telling the sound to go though digitally out put device.. but that make it so that there is no sound at all

anyone know what my problem is

donno what that is.. all i have is 2 HDMI cables

do you mean HMDI problem and not usb? You have setup your video out setting to display only on the tv, and not on the laptop. How new is your laptop? Some laptops have a problem of not transmitting audio via hdmi.
Update your video, and audio drivers.

There's usually a FN button and one of the F# keys that will cycle through the display settings. They have it where you can send the signal to laptop screen, external screen or both.

That's what I was thinking. Im sure it depends on the make of laptop you have. Mine's F2
