the wizards need to make push for the all star center... i like okafor but having an all star with wall beal and nenê is not something most teams would wanna **** with. any comments on d12?

i agree we definetly need to get him. hes the only way we can be relevant in the near future. we arent going to have a good pick, and there arent many other free agents this year that could propell us to the next level. our starting 5 would be pretty damn amazing

We don't need Howard. And who would want him? Haven't you seen enough this year to learn that he's an hyper-sensitive, oft-injured, spoiled little kid? His maturity is that of a 13-year old.
And if you've learned anything about the current regime, it's about cleaning house of guys just like him. Why do you think they've been tossing guys like McGee, Blatche, Arenas, Young, Crawford....no way this is happening and besides that, Howard wants and craves attention from a major media market so he can flex his muscles to impress himself.
No way in hell he comes to Washington and he's not needed here anyway.

hmm, theoretically possible I guess, assuming the cap goes up to about 60 m, terminating Okafor's contract would make it kinda close, espeically if you can convince Ariza to not pick up his option.

But there are a boatload of teams with capspace out there, and plenty are more competitive , think the Rockets or Dallas.

Eh you aren't signing anyone. You'd be much more likely to get him by trading Okafor and Ariza's expiring deals along with some draft picks for a sign and traded Howard.

And I get it, Howard is a Prima Donna in interviews. But he's also the best defensive big man in the NBA, a gym rat who goes hard in practice. It's so silly that people act like he's some malcontent. He doesn't get in trouble. He doesn't party.mye just plays basketball and occasionally gives really stupid interviews.

Remember when the Magic made the finals with Howard and Turkoglu and Jameer Nelson as their biggest stars? There are only so many guys who can legitimately be the centerpiece of a true contender. Howard is one of them. Rest assured that 30 GMs are well aware of that and casual fans who only think if him as a whiner will be amazed when the trade offers for sign and trades start coming in.

If the Wizards got him for Okafor and picks, we are immediately getting written in for home court in round 1,
