And you think the Yankees don't have questions marks in their rotation? Can Hughes produce quality back to back seasons? What will the Yankees get out of the #4 and #5 spots? Is Burnett a bust? The Yankees have one pitcher that scares anyone and that is Sabathia. Depending on what happens in Tampa Bay and Toronto, I don't think it is out of the realm of impossible that the Yankees finish 4th in the division. I know as a Yankee fan you are supposed to support your team, but the Yankees are in no way a guaranteed lock for even the wild card.

cmon? 4th place? i dont see any way we finish worse than at least 2nd, and winning the WC. I still think we're plenty loaded enough to win the division.

BTW, no way Gardner breaks camp as the leadoff hitter.
Boston is good on paper but I will never say they are the favorites until they perform. I don't believe in favorites it really means absolutely nothing. I think Boston will learn what the Yankees learned a long time ago. You can't buy championships.

I like the optimism, beats the **** out of the whining that goes on around here
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

i agree but to anoint them the winners on day 1 would be giant mistake too. Its to early for threads like this but i love the enthusiasm. I just can't wait for opening day. I also wouldn't mind fast forwarding a year so we are that much closer to Delin and Manny b....

4th, Tampa is on the decline. Outside of Zobrist and Longo their lineup is either old or sloppy. That rotation is too young and they have no pen. I think Toronto is still a year or two away from becoming really good. Baltimore I think my surprise some this year, but the Yankees will make the postseason one way or another. We'll either get the east or wildcard by the end of the season.

It should be an interesting season, one that I'm excited about. It's a long season anything could happen. Did anyone realy think the Giants would win the WS last season? So I think it's to early to pick a favorite.

I know what you mean, I think the the Yankees, Twins, Tigers, redsox, Rangers, and White sox all have a shot to win the AL and in the NL it will come down to one of the Phillies, Braves, Reds, Marlins, Brewers, or Giants to win the NL. It shall be a good season with this many teams in contention.

how do we lose, especially is Jesus comes hittin like we all think

    and a starting 5 of
    CC
    Hughes
    AJ
    Nova
    Garcia

of course Colon will battle for a spot. But imo that is what the rotation will be, and we have an absolutely ridiculous bullpen. I dont see how NYY is not the favorite to win the AL East

I agree you will win if Jesus comes along.

it could happen, but i wouldn't go as far to say they will considering they have basically the same team as last year and didn't win it. Where as i don't beleive boston is as good as everyone seems to make them out to be, they are still a really good team

    Good optimism.
If Boston's pitching does well, then I can't see them not taking the division. Their offense can make up for subpar performances like ours has in the past.

I think Nova will be a great #4 for us this year. Better than Javy was.

AJ needs to figure it out. Has anyone heard how his spring training is going? I have a hard time following the preseason for baseball.
