    Winipeg "__________" Nickname Thread

seeing how the Coyotes are going to be moving back to the Peg next season, how about we come up with some possible names for Winnipeg, besides the obvious "Jets"

    im likin the "Winnipeg Slurpees"

why? because if we get Slurpees as the last name, we could potentially get corporate sponsorship from 7-11, and mainly because Winnipeg is the Slushiee capital of the world

Winepeg Goldwater, I wish they were staying but it doesn't seem likely.

Its gonna be the Jets lol...just the way it is.

Maybe Atlanta will beat the Yotes to moving and get Winnipeg who will likely get a team first. What would the Quebec team be called...

What about 'Blue Bombers'? If not then I'd stick with the Jets.

Maybe a more interesting question is this - If a team moved back to Winnipeg would Teemu Selanne go back for 1 more year to, kind of, retire with the team he started with?

There is only one name possible. The Jets. Also screw the NY Jets they should fold their naming rights to Winnipeg. lol

    **** you!

That's the only reason I don't want them to be the Jets.

Anyways, the Winnipeg Seamen sounds like the best fit.

Winnipeg Slurpees would be fantastic lol but it'll probably be Manitoba ________ because the chipmans introduced Manitoba as the moose and since its the same ownership group they'll most likely keep it as the province name but I think it should be Winnipeg's team not Manitoba!!

BRING BACK THE JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm ready for some NHL hockey back in the peg!!

How about Winnipeg Good Economy. I'm glad our economy in Arizona has rebounded and house prices and jobs are climbing back up, it must be why we would pay a billionaire 200m+ to run his team then move it in 5 years. I'm glad all is well here now. The deal will go through, they'll stay and this we can all laugh about in the years to come. And as my house value goes down each month how can I not be happy Glendale resident.

    Go coyotes!

I go to about 20 games a winter but I'm going to have to get used to paying for my average seat $60-$70 a game then move down to the $100.00 seats after the 1st period instead of my regular $20.00. I think I'll go to less games. Anyone else ready to pay between 50.00 and 120.00 a seat. Hulzinger has to raise prices big time so he doesn't lose nothing and keeps some of that 200m+ we give to him. Still will be a fan but hard to afford those prices!
