    Greatest Vocalist of All-Time?

Who is your greatest vocalist of all-time?

In my opinion its Freddie Mercury. I mean the guys range that he could stretch his voice was just incredible and still such a shame that he died so young!

When I saw the question I immediately thought of Freddie Mercury.

    Chris Cornell deserves a mention.

I actually thought of him at first too. My feeling for him have dampened over the years though, and his voice doesn't impress me much live (from the little I've witnessed).

Freddie is probably the best, but I also think Cornell is incredible.

Some other greats (imo): Roy Orbison, Brad Delp, Elvis (really think he's underrated), Robert Plant, McCartney

In all seriousness? Diamanda Galas. There's never been another soul on earth with a voice like that one:

I'm a huge RHCP fan, but Kiedis is definitely far from the greatest vocalist. Great front man and definitely not a bad singer (plus he does his weird rap-ish thing well), but not a great vocalist in comparison to others

Cornell might be the best studio vocalist ever, but he can't get it going live most times.

I love everything he does though. Tremendous musician.

I've never seen Queen in person so I've never heard Freddie Mercury live but I have seen Queensryche and Geoff Tate is the best I've ever heard live.
