Well my knee felt okay to him but that didn't match up with the description of what I was telling him, so I now get to wear an annoying brace and take a ton of ibuprofen for the next week or so. If it still doesn't feel better after that, another MRI

Haha thanks NN. Believe me, every chest day will now incorporate a set of 185 and hopefully build off that

    Biceps Thursday

    Dumbbell Curls - 4x12x35
    Barbell Curls - 4x12x70
    Dumbbell Incline Curls - 2x12x30

Gym decided to close early tonight for some reason and I wanted to get a short run in to see how my knee would react. Seems to be okay now, we'll see how it it in the morning without any meds

Phew, it's been too long. December was pretty crazy with finals, projects, and work but I hope to get into a groove again. I may have talked my girlfriend into coming to the gym with me because I figured, is there any better motivation than being in the same room with you?

Unrelated, my knee started bothering me again (I think I mentioned it recently), went to the doctor, and found that I have tears in my meniscus and ACL. Have another doctors appointment later this month to see what to do now. Obviously, this means lower body workouts are on hold.

Anyway, I eased back into it tonight:

    Flat Bench Press - 3x7x135
    Dumbbell Press - 3x12x40
    Dumbbell Flys - 3x12x30
    Dumbbell Incline Flys - 3x12x30
    Widegrip Bench Press - 3x12x95

Not the best workout but without a spotter and the first day back, I'm content with it.

One last thing, I've heard conflicting advice on ab workouts. Can/should you workout your abs everyday? I've heard its better to rest them like the other muscle groups and others have said you can train them everyday

Sorry to keep bumping every so often but I found out that my knee pain was a torn ACL so I just had it reconstructed last week. I had been working out pretty frequently before but this is definitely going to set me back a little while.

Not sure when I'll be able to make it back to the gym but I'll try and post when I do

Well two knee surgeries and a ton of physical therapy later and I made it back to the gym tonight. Did chest tonight and it was really discouraging lol. Had no stamina and my numbers certainly took a hit. I'm not going to get too down about it though, it was out of my hands and I'm going to start lifting consistently again. Leg workouts are still a long way away but as long as I get back into a routine, I'm fine with that.

Now that I'm not playing rugby, I'm just focusing on getting leaner and building some muscle in the process, not a bulk. Aside from cleaning up my diet, and cardio (which hopefully I will be able to do in a month or so) should I change up my workouts?

    Good to be back

Ouch, one is enough for me, I don't want to even imagine twice. Things are finally starting to look up though. Had the knee manipulated a couple of weeks ago to break up all the scar tissue and I'm finally around 120-130 ROM. Granted, 130 is only during PT as he is stretching the knee but regardless, it sounds like in another month, things will be back to normal bend wise and it will just be strengthening the leg back up and resuming cardio, etc.
