The New York Islanders announced today that left wing Matt Moulson has agreed to terms on a three-year contract.

Moulson, 27, has 29 points (17 goals, 12 assists) in 49 games this season in his second season with the Islanders.

Last year, the North York, ON, native led all Islanders in goals (30), while also establishing career highs in assists (18), points (48) and games played (82). Moulson has yet to miss a game through his two seasons with the Islanders, currently leading the team with 131 consecutive games played.

Moulson was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the ninth round, 263rd overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He began his professional career in 2006 with the American Hockey League affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, the Manchester Monarchs. In each of the following three seasons with the Monarchs, Moulson tallied over 45 points respectively.

Prior to beginning his professional career, the 61, 210-pound forward enjoyed a four-year career at Cornell University.
No word on the cap hit but I like hit, his intngibles are too good to let go. He could score 36 gols on any line too becuse of the way he scores them

good this needed to get done. he claims to like it here and he and JT have become close, so it was not a shock he'd be willing to resign for the right price. hopefully keeping MM will help the islanders keep JT here as well.

josh is a tough call bc he has been strugling this year but i dont think ou can give up on a kid who is only 21(look at what grabner has done) however he will be a rfa this offseason so maybe we just listen to offers for him in the offseason.
