Fitness level (exactly how bad or good of shape are you in)
Have you ever followed a fitness program before?
What are your goals?
How much time do you have available to dedicate to your goals? How many days per week?
Do you have access to a gym? If not do you have access to weights?
If you are seeking diet advice, please tell us if you have allergies or foods that you do not like.
Are you taking supplements?
Any injuries?

Those are just some basic parameters that will make our lives a little easier. Please do not be embarrassed as we do not judge in this forum. Remember we all started somewhere!! We also suggest keeping a "log", your own thread, where you can track either your routine, your diet, or both. It helps keep you honest with yourself, it helps us to make sure you are training/dieting well, and it also helps others stay motivated.
