Jay Glazer: Raiders expected 2-4 week timetable for McFadden

Darren McFadden - RB - Raiders
According to FOX's Jay Glazer, the Raiders anticipated a 2-4 week absence when Darren McFadden went down with a high-ankle sprain in Week 9.
In other words, they've been lying. Coach Dennis Allen refused to publicly rule McFadden out for Week 10 until last Friday, and has avoided providing any sort of a concrete timetable. Glazer's reported timeline is the norm for high-ankle sprains, however, and finally gives us a better idea of when to expect McFadden back. He can be safely ruled out for Week 11, and should be considered doubtful for Week 12. Marcel Reece will be the lead dog in Oakland's backfield against the Saints.

Should have included a poll with the question, "Has Darren McFadden played his last game in Silver and Black?"

I think he has lady and gentlemen.

It really could be iffy, but I think he'll be back. Take the timetable and add a McFadden grace period to it, he could be back for the last couple games. I don't think they will shut him down.

Let him sit on some other team's sideline sipping on Summer's Eve.

sit him for the rest of the season. no use of him playing the last two games it can only hurt his value. he will have a career ending injury in one of those two games.

2-4 weeks? Say it ain't so....

Damn I'm going to miss him running into defenders and stopping behind the line of scrimmage. We sure do need that 3YPC....

I will be very displeased if we take the same RB/OL/blocking scheme into next year.

2-4 weeks is a euphemism for season ending injury, where McFadden is concerned.

    I won't

It's a proven system that employs lower draft pick OL. Fact is, our LG, RG, and RT blow. We need OL, not a new scheme. It works everywhere else, and the last time our running game mattered we ran it with Cable. Cable is pretty damn good at it now in SEA too.

Fargas ran for 1k in it... DMC is just a bust and making us look bad. All his big runs this year were in ZBS plays.
