I figured we could use one of these since it looks like we'll be getting an entirely new coaching staff. You can post rumors and stuff in here, actual hirings deserve their own threads, though.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer is saying Rob Ryan is on Carolina's short list. Earlier in the year I would have said he was a good choice but afer following the Browns the past few games, I hope we don't land him. I wonder if he likes feet as well??
Some news today on the Head Coaching front:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ng-ron-rivera/ --Interviewing Ron Rivera
-rotoworldSI's Peter King reports that Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh will choose between the 49ers and the University of Michigan for his next job.
It appears Oakland and Carolina can forget about the hottest coaching candidate in college and pro football. King mentioned Jeff Fisher as a fall-back plan in San Francisco should new GM Trent Baalke not be able to keep Harbaugh from his alma mater. The Wolverines haven't fired Rich Rodriguez, although there's no question they would if they knew they could land Harbaugh. Jan. 2 - 7:29 pm et
THE BUZZ IS BACK!
Ron Rivera would be an excellent candidate. San Diego has had a sick defense since he took over, it's just unfortunate for the team that they haven't been winning games.
In fact according to NFL.com, they have the best overall defense, the best passing defense, and the 2nd best run defense in the entire NFL this year. Again, I like Rivera, and the news that he's being interviewed for the job is great news!
I wouldn't mind Rivera. But I don't want to give him too much credit. I'm not sure how much of that defense is actually left over from Marty and Wade.
BRING BARRETT TO CAROLINA, GETTLEMAN!
MMA FIGHTERS: WERDUM, JONES, SONNEN, MAYHEM, BELFORT, HENDRICKS, MAYNARD, ALDO, WINELAND
True, some of their success on D this year may be attributed to Marty and Wade.
However he did also preside over Chicago's D from 04 to 07, which included that nasty 06 unit that represented them in the Super Bowl.
Additionally, when he took over as the Charger's D coordinator, their defense was floundering, and has since flourished.
Get Russ Grimm. Dude deserves to be a HC.
Rob Ryan sucks. He's not even a good D-coordinator.
DUKE.
Keep foxy! haha all jokes aside, i don't really see the point in hiring a d-coordinator without h.c experience. Wouldn't that be the same thing as hiring another John Fox but a different name.
