    Media Contracts

I know there has been some discussion about this, but we should probably make it official. What should we do about the media contracts? Should we level them off league-wide? Should we set up a system where a team gains or loses a bit every year depending how they do?

Yeah, I think it works. If I remember right, we had something similar set up in the PSD league toward the end too. I think at the very least we should definitely level them off either way, and then decide on the rest later if we have to.

I like the new system a lot. Penalizes people for tanking and at least attempts to reward people for competing earlier.

We just have to decide what amounts are fair. Maybe each year you finish over .500 you get $100k, and if you make the playoffs you get another $50k. If you finish below .500 you lose $100k, if you finish below .300 you lose another $50k. We would have to pick a floor and ceiling for it too.

To add to this, I was thinking maybe we would even them out at $3.5mil with a ceiling of $4.25mil and a floor of $2.75mil. This should reward and penalize people appropriately without allowing for too much disparity between the two ends of the spectrum. Five seasons in a row in the playoffs and you are maxed out, or five seasons below .300 and you're at the bottom of the barrel, but can climb back out as soon as you start winning.

Same as above...as long as there is a way to gain/lose money on it then it's a good idea.

I say no, bad teams are already at a major disadvantage losing fan interest and money, as well as their good ML players all getting angry and playing worse, driving down their trade value. The last thing they need is to lose more money.

They gain the money back by having a good season. Not to mention, the "bad" teams are often operating on a lower payroll, so their profit margin can easily take a $100k hit.

I like the ideas mentioned. Azazel's #'s look like they should work.

    Gonna go with

Contracts start at $3.5 mil with a ceiling of $4.25mil and a floor of $2.75mil
finish over .500 you get $100k, and if you make the playoffs you get another $50k. If you finish below .500 you lose $100k, if you finish below .300 you lose another $50k

I also think Contracts ceiling should be adjusted every 5-7 years
